About Me

The name's Pellet. Bianca Pellet.
(It's pronounced PELL-AY. Honestly. We all know it should be spelt Pellé. At the time of writing this, I've been married for nearly 2.5 years, and have already had a few Hyacinth Bouquet moments of various degrees of hideousness. But despite that I do still really like being married...so far.)

I attended the University of Exeter (Classics & English BA; 2:1) and then the University of Oxford (MSt Linguistics; pass) before moving to France in 2008, where I worked in an international school, teaching English (mostly to native speakers, so the curriculum is much the same as what would be followed in my native Britain) and social studies (sounds woolly, but isn't...you try getting a gang of 16-year-olds to produce 4000 words of coursework each). In 2017 (the same year in which I acquired French nationality, woop woop!!) I moved to the Netherlands after 9 very happy years in France, where I still work in international education. In 2018 I had my first baby, a little boy.

I started Bianca's Beauty Blog in 2007 partly out of boredom and partly out of obsession for beauty products. I now get sent a lot of things for free, get invited to a lot of press events, and get asked to write things for others :)  Sadly, it is not enough to live on!

I also keep two other blogs (a book blog, and a food blog - my husband also contributes to the latter) which indulge my lifestyle-related interests, and in addition to these topics, I also write on various other lifestyle topics on request (such as travel and expat issues), as well as writing poetry and novellas and translating texts from French to English.

Should you have a journalistic or translation-related assignment and feel I could adequately fulfil the related requirements (and indeed surpass them!), please feel free to contact me at bianca[DOT]dee[AT]gmail[DOT]com.
